Olga, Nooooo and Mimi

Well...Happy 2008 Everyone! So sorry for the delay. We were on the road so much and then I welcomed the new year with a terrible cold and am just now coming out of the fog. So I am going to make this brief since all the cold medicine has dimmed my memories somewhat and no one wants to hear any more about Christmas now that it is finally OVER! Thankfully, Lori made us a great slideshow highlighting our trip. We'll begin with that...(More on Lori's new talents in the future!)

We arrived at the Dominican Republic only to be greeted by unusual high winds and crazy weather. Two days later we got to meet Olga. The Bitch. It is highly unusual for a tropical storm to form in December, unless WE are in the Caribbean trying to enjoy a vacation. It rained alot. We did get a few hours of sun most days and took advantage of those times. The boys loved everything and met some new friends from England, Venezuela, New York, Montreal, and who knows where else. We enjoyed the pool, beach and disco. Seager was impressed with the ability to get a Sprite whenever he wanted and Dagon learned his first Spanish word, Ola (hello) but his version was more like LaLa. The train was a big plus. It was such a big property and they used several trains to get everyone around. A blue one, green one and Seager's favorite, the yellow one!

Mommy's new short, straight hair style was turned into a curly, bozo-like clown look with all the humidity. It was just downright pathetic. And sadly, we returned with no real tan to speak of, except for Seager...he tans no matter what. Overall, we had a fun week but the weather could have been better. Can't win them all. The boys didn't know the difference and were just thrilled with everything and that was most important to Joe and I. Our travels now are strictly for their enjoyment and to expose them to other people, cultures and places. Here are some highlights...

After a great trip home, of course it was beautiful weather when we left, not a cloud in the sky...it figures, it was back to reality. We had a few days at home then off to Mamaw and Papoo's for a few days then back home Christmas Eve to wait for Santa then a few days at home then off to Grandmommy's house for a visit then back home for New Year's Eve and a miserable week of snot, sneezing and my most favorite symptom- coughing all day and night.

Santa was good to everyone. Dagon got a special present, he learned to say NO; not just the cute head shake but a full vocal NO. He drags it out though, like NOOOOOOOOO not just a short, curt NO. He has added several words since Christmas. His next favorite word is EWWWW, like what you would say if you smelled rotton eggs, you know EWWWWW, YUK! And when asked something like, "who's hungry?" or "who wants to take a bath?" he screams Me Me! So his new nickname for the moment is Mimi. And his ever loving big brother has taught him the word Mine! So put it all together and you can get a glimpse of what things sound like around here.... NOOOOOOO, Mine! EWWWWWW! (Seager) "I want some candy" and from the other room you can hear "ME ME ME"! Are you now impressed with my ability to still write complete sentences!!???

On other subjects, this election stuff is crazy. I thought Hitlary was scary, but I think I am just as scared of Osama, oops I mean Obama. How can anyone think to vote for a Muslim man with the name Barack HUSSEIN OBAMA? to be the leader of America?????? Not to mention he has NO EXPERIENCE to mention. Hello, I'm tired of Clinton and Bush too, but come on people?????? The jury is still out on the red side. I'll get back to you on that. Too confusing just yet.

And what is up with these freaks killing people. That horrible, horrible man who killed the hiker who just happened to be hiking in MY HOME TOWN. I just don't understand, why was she out there hiking alone????? Damn. And just 30 minutes ago on the news, some man throws 4 kids off a bridge in Mobile...4 months, 1 year, 2 year and 3 year old kids. WHAT THE HELL????? I'm telling you now, we need to start eliminating these freaks from our society. They need to be taking permanent dirt naps. If you are strung out on drugs or just nutty...Bye Bye! We don't need your crazy ass around. Ok, I'm done. This is why I just don't watch the news.

Happy New Year anyway! Let's have a great one! I am looking to end diapers and breastfeeding this year, what's your goal?

Happy 2008 Maxwell Fam! Love hearing what y'all are up to and glad y'all made it back from your vacation in one piece despite Olga's efforts to dampen the party. As poster child for the shade of white, I have no sympathy for y'all not getting a tan, though. :) Enjoyed the slide show and seeing how the boys are growing. So, who is the naked person in the bushes behind Seager in the "Classical Kid" picture? (joke, although I watched the slide show 3 times before I was convinced it wasn't a person) Take care. Love,

I know Angela's time is precious. Right now Dagon is probably hanging on her leg and Seager is yelling Mommy! Mommy! So, Aunt L will answer the Mystery of the "Naked Person" I must say I looked at those pictures for a long time. It really does look like a "Naked Person". But is only
a statue of a boy, with his clothes on. I must say, you have GREAT eyes!
