Ok, I promise this is the last of the Halloween season. It seems like we've been celebrating for a month...probably because we have! Last year it was all about the candy. This year it was all about the buttons. Simple synthetic spider webs, plastic spiders, rubber bats and real pumpkins have given way to all things battery powered. And everything has a BUTTON to push. Seager is a button pushing fiend. Every store has some sort of spooky decor that requires Seager's little finger to activate. It must be the suspense of what will happen when you push it, but no button must be overlooked or passed by. Little Dagon took it all in stride. He was only scared of the green witchy hand that trys to grab you when you reach into the candy bowl. That one thing would send the poor child running everytime. At least that makes more sense than being scared of the cute Easter Bunny (see April archive for bunny terror if you missed that). Thankfully, shopping can get back to normal...yeah right! Now we'll have to go through the torture of Santa dancing, riding a Harley, playing a guitar, etc. Here's a tip, buy stock in Duracell or Energizer!
Where was I? Oh yeah, trick or treating! Halloween night is not enough for us. We also go to a local outdoor shopping mall on a Saturday afternoon for their special event. And before that a church in the neighborhood had a little festival. The kids enjoy the carnival games and Seager got his hair painted black for his complete vampirish "look". It was strange to see him with dark hair!

Where was I? Oh yeah, suckers. Dagon likes suckers, can you tell?!

Finally, the big night has arrived...

With all the pre-trick or treating, Dagon is ready! He started out great; walked to the door, waited for Seager to do the knockin and the talkin and then tried to go in the house. Then, someone puts a sucker in his bucket, BIG DISTRACTION! We had to keep him from looking in the bucket to keep him moving. Seager wasn't slowing down for anyone, but did take the time to steer his little shadow to the cool houses. He protected him from the scary little vampire that he was scared of last year...

So we make it home, have some pizza and some candy and the insanity begins. I get them in their pj's and go back downstairs to hide the loot, and they come downstairs like this...

Here's a better look at the other kid...
